Paediatric larynx differs from an adult as it is placed higher and more anteriorly (at a vertebral level of C3-C4), and tubular in shape. Neonates and most young children are obligate nasal breather; meaning they're very much dependent of patent nasal airway to breath. The good point is the child can breathe and sucks milk at the same time, but have difficulty to breathe through the mouth whenever both nostrils become blocked. In addition, they have shorter trachea and neck which pose some difficulty in airway management for the anaesthetist. However, it higher location gives some protection from external trauma or injury. Tonsillar enlargement is common is this age group until they reach adolescent age. In many, removal of the tonsils need to be performed due to recurrent infections or obstructive apnoea syndrome (OSA). This video shows the throat of a 5 year old child with tonsillar enlargement on either sides. The epiglottis was visualized easily seen behind the hanging epiglottis. The Miracle Of Human Creation part(1) must see

http://www.khouribga.net The human body is the most complicated machine in the world. We see with it, hear with it,... http://www.khouribga.net The human body is the most complicated machine in the world. We see with it, hear with it, breathe with it, walk and run with it, and sense pleasure with it. Its bones, muscles, arteries, veins and internal organs are organized with marvellous design, and when we examine this design in detail we find even more amazing facts. Every part of the body, though each may seem to be so different from another, is made up of the same material: cells. Cells, each of which is one thousandth of a millimetre, are the structural units that form our body and everything in it. Some of these cells unite to form bones, others to form nerves, the liver, the inner layer of the stomach, the skin or the cornea of the eyeball. Each has the size and shape that exactly meet the requirement of that part of the body. How and when did cells, which have such varied functions, come into being? The answer to this question will take us into a process whose every moment is filled with mystery. All the approximately 100 trillion cells that make up your body today came from the division of one single cell. That single cell which had the same structure as all the cells in your body now, came from the union of your mother's egg cell and your father's sperm cell. In the Qur'an, God sometimes refers to the wonders of the earth and the sky, and sometimes to the mysteries of the creation of living things as various signs of His existence. One of the most important of these signs is His wondrous creation of human beings. In many verses, as a lesson to human beings, God advises them to turn and look at their own creation. He explains in detail how human beings come to be and what stages they pass through. In Sura 56, He tells of human creation: We created you, so why do you not confirm the truth? Have you thought about the sperm that you ejaculate? Is it you who create it or are We the Creator? (Qur'an, 56: 57-59) The essence of a human being composed of 60-70 kilos of flesh and a mass of bones was originally contained in a drop of fluid. It is certainly a wonder that an intelligent, feeling human being with the faculties of speech and hearing and with a remarkably complex physical structure could come into existence from a drop of fluid. This development was certainly not the result of a random process or the operation of chance, but rather of a conscious process of Creation. This site will explain in detail a wonder that is experienced continually, by every person on the face of the earth the wonder of human creation. It must be made clear that what is dealt with in this site is only a part of the intricacies of human creation; but even what is related in this site reveals once again the eternal power of the Creator, His limitless knowledge and intelligence that surround and embrace the whole universe. And it will remind human beings that Almighty God is "the Best of Creators". We created man from the purest kind of clay; then made him a drop in a secure receptacle; then formed the drop into a clot and formed the clot into a lump and formed the lump into bones and clothed the bones in flesh; and then brought him into being as another creature. Blessed be God, the Best of Creators! (Qur'an, 23: 12-14) More

Acupuncture and moxibustion of traditional Chinese medicine

UNESCO: Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - 2010 URL:... UNESCO: Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - 2010 URL: http://www.unesco.org/culture/ich/RL/00425 Description: Acupuncture and moxibustion are forms of traditional Chinese medicine widely practised in China and also found in regions of south-east Asia, Europe and the Americas. The theories of acupuncture and moxibustion hold that the human body acts as a small universe connected by channels, and that by physically stimulating these channels the practitioner can promote the human body's self-regulating functions and bring health to the patient. This stimulation involves the burning of moxa (mugwort) or the insertion of needles into points on these channels, with the aim to restore the body's balance and prevent and treat disease. In acupuncture, needles are selected according to the individual condition and used to puncture and stimulate the chosen points. Moxibustion is usually divided into direct and indirect moxibustion, in which either moxa cones are placed directly on points or moxa sticks are held and kept at some distance from the body surface to warm the chosen area. Moxa cones and sticks are made of dried mugwort leaves. Acupuncture and moxibustion are taught through verbal instruction and demonstration, transmitted through master-disciple relations or through members of a clan. Currently, acupuncture and moxibustion are also transmitted through formal academic education. Panic continues as Noni spreads Outbreak

http://www.JumpstartYourDreams.com/nm.htm Noni grows in shady forests as well as on open rocky or sandy shores.... http://www.JumpstartYourDreams.com/nm.htm Noni grows in shady forests as well as on open rocky or sandy shores. It reaches maturity in about 18 months and then yields between 48 kilograms (8.818 lb) of fruit every month throughout the year. It is tolerant of saline soils, drought conditions, and secondary soils. It is therefore found in a wide variety of habitats: volcanic terrains, lava-strewn coasts, and clearings or limestone outcrops. It can grow up to 9 metres (30 ft) tall, and has large, simple, dark green, shiny and deeply veined leaves. The plant flowers and fruits all year round and produces a small white flower. The fruit is a multiple fruit that has a pungent odor when ripening, and is hence also known as cheese fruit or even vomit fruit. It is oval and reaches 47 centimetres (1.62.8 in) in size. At first green, the fruit turns yellow then almost white as it ripens. It contains many seeds. It is sometimes called starvation fruit. Despite its strong smell and bitter taste, the fruit is nevertheless eaten as a famine food and, in some Pacific islands, even a staple food, either raw or cooked. Southeast Asians and Australian Aborigines consume the fruit raw with salt or cook it with curry. The seeds are edible when roasted. The noni is especially attractive to weaver ants, which make nests out of the leaves of the tree. These ants protect the plant from some plant-parasitic insects. The smell of the fruit also attracts fruit bats, which aid in dispersing the seeds. Noni fruit powder is high in carbohydrates and dietary fiber. According to the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, a 100g sample of the powder contains 71% carbohydrate and 36% fiber. The sample also contained 5.2% protein and 1.2% fat. These macronutrients evidently reside in the fruit pulp, as noni juice has sparse amounts of macronutrients. The main micronutrients of noni pulp powder include 9.81mg of vitamin C per 1200mg sample, as well as 0.048mg niacin (vitamin B3), 0.02mg iron and 32.0mg potassium. Vitamin A, calcium and sodium are present in moderate amounts. When noni juice alone is analyzed and compared to pulp powder, only vitamin C is retained at a high level, 33.65mg per 100g of juice. Although the most significant nutrient feature of noni pulp powder or juice is its high vitamin C content, noni fruit juice provides only about half the vitamin C of a raw navel orange. Sodium levels in the noni juice blend (about 3% of DRI) are multiples of those in an orange. Although the potassium content appears relatively high for noni, this total is only about 3% of the Recommended Dietary Allowance and so would not be considered excessive. Noni juice is otherwise similar in micronutrient content to a raw orange. Noni fruit contains a number of phytochemicals, including lignans, oligo- and polysaccharides, flavonoids, iridoids, fatty acids, scopoletin, catechin, beta-sitosterol, damnacanthal, and alkaloids. Although these substances have been studied for bioactivity, current research does not conclude anything about their effects on human health. Laboratory experiments demonstrated that dietary noni juice increased physical endurance in mice. Noni has increasingly stimulated the interest of medical science, with 145 papers published since 1994 and 55 just since 2006 (search "noni" and "morinda"; PubMed search, January 2008). Despite the large market for juice products and research developments, the nutrient and phytochemical profiles of noni have not been extensively studied. Furthermore, 1) numerous health claims made in noni juice marketing are not supported by scientific research and 2) in human clinical trials, only one cancer study completed under NIH peer-review in 2006 has been conducted, the results of which remain unpublished as of August 2007. Likewise, in a university-based pilot study funded by the noni juice manufacturer, Tahitian Noni International, Inc., it was shown that noni juice consumption may lower blood cholesterol levels. Completed in 2006, however, the results of this study have not been published under peer-review and have met critical judgment by experts. Laboratory studies have investigated noni's effect on the growth of cancerous tissue in mice. One such study in vitro found that noni reduced growth of capillary vessels sprouting from human breast tumor explants and, at increased concentrations, caused existing vessels to degenerate. It remains unknown whether such effects occur in vivo in other animal models or in cancer patients. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noni en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noni_juice More

How Far Infrared Technology Works

Infrared light is a product of heat production. Humans generate waves in the 6-20 micron range. The optimal output... Infrared light is a product of heat production. Humans generate waves in the 6-20 micron range. The optimal output range of far infrared sauna emitters is between 5 and 14 microns which is very close to the resonant frequency of a water molecule. This similarity makes sense since our bodies are almost 70% water. This range, sometimes called "Vital Rays", appears to have special regenerative effects on the body. Our heater's output is evenly spread around the 9.4 micron point of peak human output. Because the water molecule resonates or vibrates, this vibration causes a release of cellular toxins such as mercury, aluminum, cholesterol and other toxic gases such as sulfur and formaldehyde. The energy output from the far infrared sauna corresponds so closely to the body's radiant energy that our bodies absorb 96% of the energy. More

Difference Between Ceramic (left - Recommended) and Carbon Fiber (right) Emitters

At Far North Wellness we can build your sauna either out of the Fusion Duo-Wall Ceramic Ultra Low EMFRTM emitters or... At Far North Wellness we can build your sauna either out of the Fusion Duo-Wall Ceramic Ultra Low EMFRTM emitters or out of Activated Carbon Fibre. We would much rather you know the advantages and disadvantages of each emitter so that you make an educated decision. Both of our emitters produce over 70% of their emissions in the 7-10 micron range which is excellent. A slight edge would go to the ceramic as it produces 90% of its emissions in the Far Infrared Spectrum (5-14 microns) where as the carbon fibre is at 80% in that range. This is a very minor difference and you would not be able to notice it. What you will notice however is the physics of how each one heats your body. Carbon fibre was built for use in the lay down or dome saunas. In this application it works excellent and we would not even consider using ceramic for it. Unfortunately the physics do not hold true when using carbon fibre in an upright wooden sauna. With ceramic emitters you retain the ability to zone heat specific body parts. For example if you had a bad back, neck or shoulder that you wanted to treat more than your foot, you can do that in a ceramic sauna, you cannot do that in a carbon fibre sauna. Carbon fibre has the same power but spreads the infrared out over a larger area so for any given portion of it you are receiving less infrared. We supply to over 200 different Naturopaths, Chiropractors, Massage therapists and Spas across North America, they always want to know we build with ceramic emitters in the wood saunas and carbon fibre in the lay down or dome saunas so that their clients can get the benefits of zone heating. We always encourage people to try a good quality carbon fibre and a good quality ceramic, when they do, we have over 99% that go with the ceramic emitters for the wooden saunas. We do talk to people that phone in to ask why the carbon fibre was not of making them sweat nearly as much as the ceramic in a wooden sauna. This goes right back to the zone heating aspect of the emitters. If you think of the physics of how your body sweats and you look at two different scenarios: 1) When we warm up your arm, your entire body does not burst into sweat, this is not how your body works. But... 2) If we warm up the core of your body you will get profuse sweating throughout your entire body. It makes more sense when we design a sauna to allocate more far infrared energy on your core than it does on your foot. The rest of the emitters are designed to give you a full bath in the infrared but you will receive a higher concentration on your core which is where you also store the majority of your toxins. A few points to remember about carbon fibre in wood saunas that they don't tell you when they are trying to sell you on it. 1) No Zone heating. You cannot control where the infrared energy goes, that is why it needs a dome shape to be effective. 2) Good quality carbon fibre will produce 90%+ infrared energy, poor quality will produce less than 25%. The same is true for ceramics. 3) Emitters go above the head so there is a lot of lost energy in the wooden saunas. 4) Warm up time is much longer. Carbon Fibre saunas will warm up to about 40 degrees Celsius at the same rate as a ceramic, but it is the time to travel from 40-55 that is very long in a carbon fibre unit whereas the ceramic gets up there with out any problems.
